One Year Stats

So Rebekah had her one year old, well baby visit to the doctor yesterday. She was such a great patient! She only cried for her shots, after she got the last one, and she hardly moved a muscle for her finger stick. It was great! Rebekah is 30 3/4 inches long and weighs 22lbs and 2 ozs. She's still bigger than average, but her growth has slowed down a bit. She's no longer in the 90-95 percentile and is down to the 75th in both height and weight. Dr. Otto says she looks just wonderful, and we couldn't agree more!

Princess

So some of Elise's favorite things in the whole world are trains, trucks, balls, playing outside, and coloring. When my brother gave Elise, Julia, and Rebekah a shared Christmas gift of Disney Princess dress-up clothes, I thought, "Well, that will be fun for Julia to play with when she comes over." Elise likes wearing dresses for church but that's usually the extent of it. You have no idea how thrilled I am to hear, "Mommy, can I dress like Snow White again?" Don't get me wrong, I love that Elise likes trains, truck, balls, ect. but there is something about a little girl wanting to play dress up that is just so sweet and fun. Elise likes to get one of each accessory- earrings, necklace, rings, bracelet, wand, crown, ring, and shoes- to wear with her outfit. Unfortunately, as soon as the last item is on, she says, "OK. I'm done." All of that effort for a few seconds or wear! Thankfully, today, I got her to keep her outfit on for a few pictures. Enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday to our dear, sweet Rebekah! One year ago, I was in my hospital bed looking at this precious baby wondering how we could be so blessed to have another daughter in our family. The Lord certainly provided us with an amazing gift! Rebekah, I love everything about you. I love that you are so curious and inquisitive. I love that you have a bit of spunk in your personality. I love that you are so friendly to strangers. I love that you will crawl over to me just to be held and snuggled for a few seconds before getting back to playing. I even love that you take your shoes and socks off in the car every single trip, even when it's 20 degrees outside. I love that you have to eat your cheese before anything else during lunch.

You have a a playful personality that draws people to you. Your smile is contagious! You definitely have a mind of your own, vocalizing your displeasure when you're unhappy or when you have been disciplined. You love Elise so very much and want to do or play with everything that she does. One of my favorit moments of the day is when you two play "hide and seek" before prayers and bed.

Rebekah, the Lord has certainly blessed us with you in our family. I am so looking forward to the year and years ahead to see the girl and woman He has designed you to be. You are so very special to Daddy and me, and we love you so very much!
